Ch. Sarkel's A Dollar & A Dream
"Quiet Wyatt"
My first sight of you was one of pure joy,
There you were my robust, handsome brindle boy
Made with one part "Dollar" and one part a dream
The combination was just what it seemed
Your shined from the start
and quickly put your own claim on my heart
A noisy little fellow with lungs so loud
You were never satisfied to be just one of the crowd.
As you protested in your crate, "Quiet Wyatt" I would say
One look at that face, and I would cave and let you out to play.
At four months of age you where were sent to a friend
You would be her first show dog, it seemed a perfect blend
In the world of show dogs, sometimes others are not so kind,
and my friend was told she must be blind
Couldn't she see!
You being a show dog just couldn't be
We both agreed, rather than argue with any one,
Back home to me is where you would come
In the show ring 4 majors came, showing others what I always knew
That the blood of champions really did flow through you.
My gentle giant, stout and strong
And In our eyes you never did wrong
Like your father Dollar, you soul was sweet
Kind and gentle to all you would meet
Grandpa Herb loved his macho man
And would not grant a return to Texas as we had planned
Instead, like your father, you place was at Herb's side
And there you stayed until the day he died
You played the role of father a couple of times,
And your son Wrapper in my heart shines
As boisterous and bossy every day as only Wrapper can be,
Still I'm thankful for the "special child" you gave to me.
When I learned your time with us would soon be over
My consolation was knowing soon you would be romping in heaven's clover
The tears I cried flowed long and hard
And I long to see you sunning in the yard
But up in the heavens you will now romp and play
And I'm betting you'll hear God say
"Quiet Wyatt, the heavens are supposed to be a peaceful place."
But just like me, God will forgive you when he gazes at your face.
Farewell my love, stay by Daddy in the heavens above
And remind him daily how much you are both loved.
