There was a WHISPER among the angels today
She's come home, they said, she's come home to stay.
Almost 10 years ago, she came to me, a Whisper On The Wind blew into town,
And one glance at her face never let anyone walk away with a frown
The confines of the show ring just was not her style;
She entered the ring showing her contempt, leaving me to simply shake my head and smile.
You could not say No to that adorable face
She knew how to work it skillfully managing to always put you in your place
It was that face that captured another heart
It was obvious when they met there was a strong bond from the start
Even though she ruled my heart in every way,
It was in another's heart she was meant to stay
And so she left my home a little over 12 months to become a Southern Bell
And it is there in Carrie Holt's heart she will always dwell
There are no words to Carrie I can say today
That will take her tremendous pain and loss away
I know Whisper was loved without a doubt
And today we cry tears as her beautiful light was peacefully turned out
This little fawn girl with that darling black face
I know her place in our hearts will never be replaced
Our only joy from now will be the memories we share
As we always remember our "Whisper On The Wind" in the soft spring air.
