It seems like yesterday that I was driving to the vet's office in the middle of a cold March night to help your mother Misty bring you into this world. Has twelve years really gone by? I should have known I was in for a bumpy ride as from the very start you had things your way! I still smile as I remember you as that promising pup who sat in the yard always looking up. Your secret desire always remained the same, to fly like a bird thus I gave you your name.

You soared through the show ring with style and then began your true contribution from the whelping box to the breed I love. Your legacy will go on long after you cross the Rainbow Bridge to wait for me. Since being honored by the ABC in May of 1998 as a Dam of Merit you are now climbing another hill we are hoping will gain you a Legion of Merit Award. Your daughter, Ch. Sarkel's Promising Future has just achieved the same honor so you are now a producer who is producing more producers. Your puppies, grand pups and great grand pups will carry your influence for years to come. Some will find their glory in the show ring. Still more will find glory in basking in the love from the hearts of the humans they will share their lives with and who we will always call our friends. You, Dear Sadie Bird, are the original and the one who I will always carry closest to my heart. I've always had faith in you and your companionship I still cherish most of all. Your ancestors were gentle breezes that sent us into motion but you are truly the Wind Beneath My Wings.
