I can see you now in God's garden above,
digging and chewing, doing all the things you love.
For your courage and bravery we gave you your name,
Your spirit and attitude were hard to contain.
You spent your short life running at full out speed,
stopping only long enough for the hugs and kisses every puppy needs.
It's almost as if you knew,
you had so little time and so much to do.
The tears are still fresh and so is the pain,
but someday, dear heart I will see you again.
If God should grow impatient and send you to this world once more,
I hope your spirit finds it way to my door.
An empty place in our heart and home,
is reserved for you, Mufasa, and you alone.
Run with the wild ones, our little Lion King,
your spirit alone will make the angels sing.
