You were proof enough I was doing something right
And when your own puppies arrived it was such pure delight.

That first sight of you with your babes by your side
My heart swelled and quite nearly burst with pride.

A few weeks later fate took a turn
And life gave me some hard lessons to learn

Your Grandpa Herb suffered a debilitating stroke
As I think of it now, on tears I still choke

By I drove to Texas to bring him home your son
Just like you I knew he was the one

Dollar's love brought your Grandpa back to me
Your influence on Dollar's beauty was plain to see

All four of your babes did well as they showed
Four champions in one litter put our hearts aglow

An accidental breeding between you and your son
Left all of us thinking now what has she done?

No need to worry the genes went just right
And yet another great puppy came into my life

Your daughter Jasmine, another champion you did send
But more than that she brought me some wonderful friends

I didn't get to see you turn charming and gray
Suddenly I was told you had gone away

I shall always treasure the time that we had
Yet the thoughts of your going still make me sad
