You were your father's first born son,
From the moment I laid eyes on you I knew you were a special one.
A handsome pup from the very start,
you quickly laid claim on another's heart
Off to Missouri you went to live,
Your heart was mine to share and give
Susan and Larry I took under my wing,
your potential would make all our hearts sing
A charmer with your humans as handsome as your Dad
We were never disappointed our hearts were so glad
You strutted and breezed through the show ring
Never missing a step as you did your own thing.
You came for visits on more than one occasion
And Grannie Annie arranged your first romantic liaison
Like you father you certainly loved the ladies
and you also made such pretty babies.
It doesn't seem fair that you had to go
I kept telling myself it just wasn't so.
A trip to the bridge was not in our plans
but we all know such things are out of our hands.
I will miss that bounce when you heard my voice
and someday I'll be the one to rejoice
I'll meet you in heaven with the rest of the clan
Until then sleep well my beautiful, Cash Man.
