In loving memory of Bonnie
Bonnie Bonnie Bonnie
Ch. Sarkel's Strength To Dream
"Bonnie Blue"

November 24, 1997 -- February 17, 2001

A "special" girl from the very start,
you quickly claimed a piece of my heart.

I dreamed of you long before you came,
those dreams and strength are reflected in your name.

A busy young boxer girl with a mind of her own,
I rejoiced in that special light every day until you were grown.

Full of beauty and energy the likes I'd never seen,
I knew you would leave your mark on the show scene.

Anyone who saw you had to agree,
there was a special light around you, it wasn't just me.

We share our travels together over mountains and around bends,
but most important of all we were truly best friends.

Then a handsome young fawn came knocking at the door
and they joys of motherhood were there for us to explore.

Each day together brought me more joy and pride,
there were no signs of the enemy inside.

Suddenly you and I were waging a war,
this time it was death that was knocking at our door.

We fought him with everything that we could,
yet each new modern weapon we raised did absolutely no good.

The light in your eyes began to go dim
and your body began to fail you, so gaunt and so thin.

In the end a surrender to God was the best I could do,
in his arms at least there would be eternal peace for you.

Our last moments together went too quickly by
but for one tender moment I once again saw that special light in your eyes.

The tears are still flowing the pain far too keen
yet now I see my beauty shine bright once again in my dreams.

Rest well my Bon Bon in the heavens above,
I know one day I'll see you again on the wings of your love
